The workshop was aimed at improving students\u2019 reading and writing performance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the workshop, Kanar Zirak,\u00a0 at the ELT Department introduced the paraphrasing writing technique to 1st grade students of the department. Each student was given a piece of poem. They were shown how they can use their own words to explain the major ideas line-by-line to paraphrase the poem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the workshop was to teach them the importance of \u201crephrasing the poet\u2019s ideas in their own words without evaluating or addressing the author&#8217;s hidden messages or underlying themes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reading Performance is a workshop held by the ELT Department where each week an effective reading and writing technique will be presented and modeled to the participating students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[wds id=&#8221;52&#8243;]\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Performance with Mathematics Students\u00a0 The Department of English Language Teaching (ELT) at the Faculty of Education, Tishk International University (TIU) organized an open reading\/writing workshop, held on February 23rd of 2022.
