On 26th<\/sup> February 27, 2019, department of mathematics education organized a Terminology Competition for the students in the department. The aim of this event is to improve students understanding of math ability and increase their knowledge about mathematics, particularly the mathematical vocabularies and terms. Terminology Competition is a contest regarding how to write, read and meaning of the mathematical concept and words from Primary school up to university level. In the competition there were eight groups, and each group consisted of three students attended from first, second, third and fourth grade students of the department. Also, there were 3 juries, Prof. Dr. Mowafaq Muhammed, Dr. Guleren Sekreter and Mr. Jamal Gadirov, who are lecturers in the department. Each of the groups that participated in the contest made a great effort to gain the first place, actually they all deserved the first place. However, we had to choose just one of them according to the rules.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The competition consisted of two rounds and there were three sessions in each round. The first session was about how to write, the groups were listening to voice and they had to give the correct spelling. In the second session, each group were given a certain word, and they had to pronounce it. And finally, in the last session, which was about the meaning of some terms, they were given a word, and each group had to write the meaning or the definition of that word.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At the end, all the students received a certificate and the first group got some gifts. Also, we congratulate the first group on their great success and all our students on their hard works and efforts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thanks to these sorts of social activities, we can prepare for our students to a better future and provide union among us. Thanks, all contributor for their labor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
