The 2nd National Workshop on Teaching and Learning of Mathematics: Effective and Sustainable use of Technology in Teaching University-Level Mathematics

The 2nd National workshop on Teaching and Learning Mathematics is focused on the effectiveness of using technology in teaching university level mathematics. The workshop also interrogates sustainability of such technologies in the lecture rooms. This is especially of interest to both academicians and investors who invested heavily in various educational technologies during the pandemic. Therefore, as the world emerges from the ravages and disruptions of the Covid pandemic, it is necessary to examine, interrogate, and diagnose the entire educational technological set up to ensure maximum returns for stakeholders. The workshop therefore hopes to achieve the following objectives:
- To do a postmortem of the application of technology in teaching and learning of university level mathematics during the pandemic.
- To examine the effectiveness of using technology in teaching and learning of university level mathematics.
- To interrogate the sustainability of using technology in higher education mathematics teaching and learning.
Outcome(s) of the workshop:
- Participants will be able to understand issues that arose while using technology during the pandemic and interrogate the sustainability of these technologies in terms of disruptions, adaptability, and coherency.
- Participants will understand the efficacy and efficiency of classroom technology in teaching of university level mathematics and the psychological aspect of such technologies on students’ learning of mathematics.
