Teacher Professional Development is a series of seminars and/or workshops on various topical issues in education. The seminars target all academic staff of the faculty of education and anyone else in the larger TIU academic staff spectrum. The main aim of the Teacher Professional Development training is to keep all the teaching staff abreast of the current trending issues in education and how they affect them and their students. This goal is achieved through research, and the overarching concept for this academic year’s Teacher Professional Development program was themed around “Research.”
The program attracted well-qualified professionals who conducted the seminar, chief among them, Assist. Prof. Dr. Wasfi Kawach, the Director of Research Center, TIU. Dr. Wasfi took three sessions to go through essential “Research Skills” topics discussing a wide range of subtopics from the Importance of research to Data Analysis and Results Interpretation. Another well know researcher who graced the program was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy from Salahaddin University. Dr. Barzinjy spent five sessions meticulously reviewing the general subtheme “Journals, Indexing, & Publishing.” The finer topic details of his sessions and that of other presenters are included in the schedule below.
