The Faculty of Education of Tishk International University (Faculty of Education) has organized the 8th student conference under the title of “8th National Young Researchers Conference”. The Faculty of Education is working on developing a student agency to improve and increase student\u2019s achievement. Students need to be active participants during their academic journey. When learners progress from passive recipients to becoming much more active in the learning process and actively involved in the decisions regarding learning and education, they eventually develop a greater agency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why have students led conferences?<\/b><\/p>\n

This also relates to the values of our faculty in promoting excellence through care, creativity, connectivity, and critical thinking. In student-led conferences, the student undertakes the central role of organizing and presenting, along with discussions that help the students to develop the skills required to become an educator and a lifelong learner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students demonstrate their caring attitude towards their learning by taking personal responsibility for their learning. <\/p>\n

It also provides opportunities for students to show their creativity through reflecting their education and learning.<\/p>\n

The process of reflection and self-evaluation supports students to develop critical thinking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Aim & Scope<\/b><\/p>\n

The purpose of the <\/span>National Young Researchers Conference <\/strong>at TIU is to empower students to present confidently and openly discuss their learning and achievements. It also aims to gather students with the spirit of research, critical and academic thinking abilities at all levels from around the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

We kindly welcome university students coming from different parts of the region to Erbil, Iraq.<\/p>\n

The NAYREC 2021 conference aims to contribute to the region and students through their perspectives, providing the opportunity for students to take the central role during discussions. The conference is particularly important to draw attention to the problematic issues within the education system, and discuss new perspectives towards teaching, enabling the listeners to have a self-evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is expected that NAYREC 2021 conference will attract a significant number of university students with critical thinking and criticism capacity, professionals, and policymakers working in the fields of education.<\/p>\n
