ELT 486 TECHNOLOGY ASSISTED LANGUAGE TEACHING<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><b>Course Description<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>In the Technology-Assisted Language Teaching (TALT) elective course, ELT 3 students will embark on a dynamic exploration of the intersection between language education and cutting-edge technology. The course is designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of how digital tools can enhance language instruction, catering to the diverse needs of learners in today&#8217;s technologically driven world.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the course, students will delve into a rich array of topics, ranging from the integration of multimedia resources and interactive software to the development of online language learning communities. Emphasizing practical applications, participants will engage in hands-on activities and collaborative projects that allow them to experiment with various technological tools, ultimately developing the confidence to incorporate these tools seamlessly into their future language teaching practices.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the TALT course places a strong emphasis on ethical considerations and responsible use of technology in language education. ELT 370 EDUCATION FROM A CRITICAL LENS<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This course introduces students to the major tenants of the critical approach in education. It will incorporate a variety of mind games and reasoning activities that help us exercise logical thinking and understand logical fallacies. These games and activities will help students better understand different streams of reasoning and argumentation in the society. The course will connect the logical argumentations with the reading material and class activities to elaborate on the theory and practice of education.<\/div>\n<div>Students who take this course are encouraged to have successfully completed courses such: Academic Reading, Academic Writing, 21 Century Learning, Listening and Speaking.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Grade 4 elective courses are:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>1. EDU 408 CULTURE, CREATIVITY, AND CRITIQUE IN EDUCATION<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>This course is designed to help students recognize the transformative nature of education and teaching in schools and society. It will incorporate creative works in text and video into the critical approach in education. Students will watch popular films that cover educational and social issues, read short works of literature and literary criticism, and engage in creative writing experiences.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Students who take this course are encouraged to have successfully completely courses such as Teaching for Transformation, Education from a Critical Lens,\u00a0Introduction to Education, academic reading and writing, and the literature courses.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2.
