On November 6th, 2023, a group of 12 sophomore students of the English Language Teaching (ELT) Department, Faculty of Education<\/a> at Tishk International University (TIU)<\/a> accompanied by two teachers (Mr. Reman Sabah, Ms. Shahida Nurmatova), took a short field trip to Haval Bookstore in Erbil City. The purpose of the visit was to expose students to a diverse range of English-language books and encourage a passion for reading.<\/p>\n Upon arrival, the students received a brief introduction to Haval Bookstore. They learned about the collection of English books and its role in promoting literacy in the community. Students were given a guided tour of the bookstore, led by the knowledgeable staff. The tour covered different sections of the store, including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, and academic resources.<\/p>\n Each student had the opportunity to select a book of their choice. The teachers provided guidance, helping students choose books appropriate to their English proficiency levels and personal interests. The group spent some time reading their chosen books in a cozy reading area (book caf\u00e9) within the store. This allowed students to get a taste of the books they selected and engage with the texts.<\/p>\n The field trip to Haval Bookstore provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore English-language literature and foster their love for reading. Hopefully, the students left the bookstore with a newfound enthusiasm for reading and a deeper appreciation for English literature.<\/p>\n We extend our gratitude to Haval Bookstore for accommodating our visit and providing an enriching experience for our students.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
