The event was organized by Dr. Ashraf R. Abdullah. Students were asked to prepare and talk about posters relevant to the aforementioned subjects. With regards to Internet Linguistics, Dr. Ashraf’s students ventured into the virtual world Second Life and built a corpus of data through systematic participant observation. They went on to empirically observe this data and perform linguistic analysis based on what interesting features came up in the language of their corpus.
